When Mending Our Mistakes was still little more than an idea carried by equal parts conviction and uncertainty, Celina Hale chose to encourage it.

In the nonprofit world, it can be easy to guard territory, protect platforms, and view every new voice as competition. Celina chose a different path. She shared our work. She celebrated our progress. She used her own voice to help others discover ours.

Through Arkansas Restorative Initiative, Celina has dedicated herself to advancing restorative approaches that recognize the humanity and potential within every person. Her willingness to uplift the efforts of others reflects the very values restoration requires: generosity, collaboration, humility, and hope.

As Mending Our Mistakes has grown, her encouragement has reminded me that meaningful change is not built by one organization working alone. It is built by people who recognize that the work is bigger than any one of us and who choose to stand beside one another in pursuit of something better.
